Trend / On 6 May, the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, participated in the opening ceremony of the new Azerbaijani Embassy in one of the most beautiful districts of Cairo. The Embassy of Azerbaijan in Egypt was opened in 1994. The Prime Minister of Egypt, Ahmed Nazif, stated at the ceremony that his country, which pursues an active policy in the region, acts as mediator in settling many conflicts. Speaking of the economic development of Egypt, he stressed that his country is interested in strengthening economic relations with Azerbaijan and invited Azerbaijani business people to Egypt.
The state head of Azerbaijan invited the president and prime minister of Egypt to visit Azerbaijan. He voiced his confidence that documents signed during his present visit will provide impetus to bilateral cooperation. At the end of the first day of his official visit to Egypt, the President of Azerbaijan got familiarized with the Egyptian pyramids.
