Swedish Olympic hopeful Susanna Kallur,
who has been battling injury, will not compete before the upcoming Olympic
Games in Beijing, reported dpa.
In a statement posted on the Swedish Athletic Association's website the
100-metre hurdler said she "did not want to take any chances before the
Olympic Games."
"This is not an ideal preparation but the wisest decision," Kallur
said.
The Swedish hurdler withdrew Tuesday from the DN Galan event in Stockholm, citing muscle pain during the warm-up.
Kallur has only competed twice this season, placing second in the June 1 Golden
League event in Berlin and third a week later in Oslo, Norway. dpa lsm jb
