Azerbaijani ombudsman appeals to general prosecutor's office

Azerbaijani Ombudsman Elmira Suleymanova appealed to the General Prosecutor's Office in connection with the beating of soldier.

Suleymanova appealed to the deputy general prosecutor and the military prosecutor to investigate the fact of beating of soldier Royal Musayev, who undergoes medical treatment at the Central Military Hospital. Suleymanova requested the officers to take the investigation under their personal supervision, as well as to bring the perpetrators to responsibility for the crime.

Under Suleymanova's oerder, the Ombudsman Apparatus's employees met with Musayev July 2.

During the meeting, Musaev said that he was enlisted to the service from the Tovuz Military Commissariat in April 2010 and served at the Higher Military School named after Heydar Aliyev.

Musayev said he was beaten by three soldiers of the Higher Naval School while he was on duty June 12.

June 18, when Musayev was taken to the Central Military Hospital, he said that he received injuries as a result of fall. A few days later he told truth to the physician, saying that he was beaten. In his testimony to the Military Prosecutor's Offices' investigator, Musayev once again confirmed the beatings.

Central Military Hospital General Traumatology Department Head Zireddin Abbasov told the Ombudsman Apparatus's employees that the soldier was taken with a  damaged spleen, which had burst, and in this regard has been removed. At the moment the patient's condition is stable.
