Ecology school of journalists started to function in Azerbaijan on August 3 to improve the knowledge and awareness of journalists in the field of environmental protection. The school was organized by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.
"Environmental issues more increasingly attract the attention of the public, and journalists should have greater knowledge in this regard in order to better inform the public," Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources
Huseyngulu Bagirov said at the opening of the school.
According to him, the goal of ecological school is not only to aware journalists, but also to enable media representatives to obtain extensive knowledge about the essence of the various environmental issues.
According to the minister, the school will operate for a year, and upon completion of training journalists will be issued diplomas.
At the initiative of the President of Azerbaijan, 2010 was declared the Year of Ecology.
