Trend Agency was awarded with TURKSOY Press Premium by the General Secretariat of the organization for the services in the propaganda and dissemination of information about the Turkic culture in the world.
The awards ceremony will be held at the residence of the organization in Ankara in late January, TURKSOY Secretary General Dusen Kaseinov told Trend.
TURKSOY Press Premium was established by the General Secretariat of the organization in 2009. It is annually awarded to the media outlets, having merits in the propaganda and dissemination of Turkish culture in the world.
Over the years, this award was given to the media outlets of TURKSOY member-countries, including the representatives of press and television in Azerbaijan.
TURKSOY is the international organization of Turkic culture, uniting Turkic-speaking countries.
The main purpose of the organization is the cooperation between the Turkic peoples to preserve, develop and deliver general material and cultural monuments of Turkic peoples to future generations.
The organization originates from the meetings in Baku and Istanbul in 1992. Ministers of Culture of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkey and Turkmenistan declared their willingness to cooperate within a joint cultural project.
The agreement was signed in Almaty on July 12, 1993 to establish the Organization on Joint Development of Turkic Culture and Art.
TURKSOY consists of 14 participants, including sovereign countries and federal entities or autonomous regions of the third countries: Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tatarstan, Gagauzia, Khakassia, etc.
