On 28 February at 12.00pm the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan will consider a cassation appeal by the leader of National Survival Movement, Faraj Guliyev, made on the protest by the Prosecutor Generals Office, Guliyev told Trend.

An article of convictions on Guliyev was removed on 17 January 2005 at the sentence of the Sabayil District Court. However, who did not participate in the parliamentary elections as a result of a protest by the Prosecutor Generals Office submitted a cassation appeal to the Supreme Court.

Guliyev noted his intention to participate in by-elections to the parliament scheduled for 13 May 2006. However, the convictions left on me prevent me to realize the plans. If the Supreme Court takes a positive sentence, 10 members of the movement along with me will participate in the by-elections. Otherwise we will refuse from participation in elections, he underlined

The legal proceedings will held under the chairmanship of Zeygam Huseynov.
