On August 17, the chairman of the Press Council of Azerbaijan (PC) Aflatun Amashov met with the chief of the social-political department of Presidents Executive Office Ali Hasanov, Trend has been told at PC.
During the meeting, discussions were held on the condition of the media in the country over the last four months and happening events. Amashov mentioned the facts such as application of force in relation with the editor-in-chief of Bizim Yol newspaper, increasing of pressure on journalists and court processes, and stressed that it needs to take urgent measures to eliminate these cases.
Ali Hasanov underlined the measures implemented in ensuring the freedom of word and press. He stressed that respectful approach from journalists to the honour and dignity of people in the articles, as well as persons responsible for regulating relations with media is the available was of resolving the problem.
