Next Petition of Azerbaijan’s Former Health Minister and His Advocate was not Adopted

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend E.Javadova / On 16 March the court session continued over the criminal cases of the former Health Minister of Azerbaijan, Ali Insanov and other 10 prosecuted people. Insanov and other prosecuted persons are accused of taking bribe, misuse of the authorities, illegal privatization.

The next petition of Insanov and his advocate Agaves Shahverdi protesting against the composition of the court was not adopted. Thereafter, the representative of the State Property Privatization Department, Gahraman Aliyev, was questioned. He could not reply to the questions of the Judge and advocates. The Judge found fault with Aliyev that he is not ready to answer questions and gave him time until 19 March to get prepared.

Thereafter, the inhabitant of Baku city, Shahin Huseynov, was questioned due to the episode of privatization of policlinic No. 7 in Baku. Huseynov said that the policlinic privatized by him has no relations to the Ministry.

"This facility was owned by the Housing and Communal Department. I received a reference from the Department and submitted it to the Privatization Department," Huseynov said.
