Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend Z.Safarov / The Azerbaijani women's national volleyball team maintained their chance to enter the semifinal round of the tournament held in honor of the first Russian President Boris Yeltsin held in Yekaterinburg and Nizhniy Tagila.
After the loss in the first round with the Netherlands, the Azerbaijani national team defeated the Russian team of students with the score of 3:0. The Azerbaijani team began the game with confidence and ended the game with the score of 25:15 in their favor. After a break they demonstrated a very good game and defeated their rivals with the same score. The third part of the game was very tense, but the Azerbaijani athletes won anew with the score of 28:26. Now the Azerbaijani team can struggle in the semifinal round, but it has to defeat the Olympic champions from China.
