Azerbaijan, Ganja / Тrend corr V. Mammadov / During the 11 July event held by the Azerbaijani National Mine Clearing Agency (ANAMA), wheelchairs were presented to invalids who have suffered from mine-related accidents.
According to ANAMA expert on information issues, Aziz Aliyev, although it had been planned to present wheelchairs to twenty-three victims, only fifteen came to take them. Aliyev noted that researches revealed that 18,000 people have been victims to mine accidents in Azerbaijan, of which 130 of them need wheelchairs. Such events will be held in all Azerbaijani regions.
The US European Command Troops of Special Appointment allocated $21,000 for the production of 280 wheelchairs.
