Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr I. Alizadeh / Azerbaijan gives no way to xenophobia or anti-Semitism, the Chairman of the Azerbaijani permanent parliamentary commission on human rights, Rabiat Aslanova, reported on 26 July.

"How can we speak on anti-Semitism in Azerbaijan when the deputy chairman of the permanent parliamentary commission on human rights is MP Evda Abramov, a Jew," Aslanova said. She noted that she also was a member of a national minority. "There are four representatives of national minorities in the commission. I think that is a good proof," she added.

The representatives of Israeli Knesset (parliament) arrived in Azerbaijan, got familiar with the living conditions of mountain Jews in Guba, and made sure that every nation is respected here.

A resolution stipulating for intensification of struggle against anti-Semitism, religious and national discrimination in Europe was adopted at the summer session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
