In the new Development Strategy for 2021-2023, Azerbaijan’s PASHA Bank plans to continue strengthening the achieved results and improving digital products for its customers based on their preferences, Vusal Khalilov, head of the bank's engineering department, told Trend.

“The technologies which are used in PASHA Bank will be developed comprehensively and consistently, which will help avoid the risks of obsolescence of the used systems and provide customers with the most convenient digital financial instruments to achieve the best business results,” Khalilov added.

“The introduction and use of microservice architecture and technology of cloud providers allowed us to eliminate dependence on specific programming languages, which puts our bank on a par with the world's leading companies both in terms of the technologies which are used and in the structure of the organization,” head of the department said.

“At the present stage, we plan to improve the products and services we offer, making them smarter, for them to bring even more practical benefits and thereby increase the competitiveness of our customers' business," Khalilov said.

“PASHA Bank plans to gradually reduce the level of integration of old systems, which can potentially create difficulties when launching new innovative products,” head of the department said.

“We started the process of transforming our activity long before the COVID-19 pandemic, providing our clients with the opportunity to open accounts online through video verification, to order salary cards, etc.,” Khalilov said.

“During the quarantine regime, we once again made sure that all these years we have been developing correctly,” Khalilov said. “Thus, 98 percent of all operations were carried out through alternative online channels, that is, without the need to visit the bank's branches in the segment of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)."

“During the pandemic, the sector of SMEs faced financial problems and was forced to seek financial support from banks,” head of the department said.

"Our clients, both in the most acute period of the pandemic, and now can apply for a loan online and receive financing within two days," head of department added.

“PASHA Bank currently provides the most convenient internet banking in the country,” Khalilov said. “In accordance with our survey, the level of customer satisfaction with this service is very high. I would like to express my gratitude to all those customers who, with their ideas and comments, helped us make this product even better. All this became the guarantee that PASHA Bank’s internet banking received international recognition in 2020 ".
