Azerbaijan, Nakhchivan, 26 January / Trend corr E. Mammadov / Last year, 197km of road ways was constructed in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR) of Azerbaijan with a total cost of AZN 4.883, according to the NAR Transport Ministry.
Six new bridges with a total square of 144 running metres were constructed and 89,485 tons of asphalt concrete was produced in the NAR in 2007.
The individuals engaged in automobile transport and the transport establishments in Azerbaijan transported 8.041mln tons of cargo and 47.380mln passengers.
A total of AZN 25.425mln was received from cargo and passenger transportation, an increase of 2.8 times from 2006.
All cargo transportations and 99.9% of passenger transportation in the non-State sector were implemented through individuals' vehicles.
