Azerbaijan, Baku, 14 May / Trend corr U. Ismayilova/ The assets of the insurance companies operating in Azerbaijan totalled AZN 151.4mln in 2007, while at the beginning of 2007 they were only AZN 88.6mln, Azerbaijani Finance Ministry reported on 12 May.
The aggregated authorized capital of the insurance companies amounted AZN 638mln, reserve capital AZN 231,000, secondary capital AZN 6.6mln; dues and fees exceeded AZN 3.2mln, past years' undivided profit - AZN 1.1mln.
The aggregated profit of the insurance companies made up AZN 15.25mln in 2007, with gone profit of AZN 10mln and undivided profit of AZN 5.2mln.
Long-term banking credits of the companies totalled AZN 39,100 and short-term AZN 69,900 in 2007. Transfers to the budget comprised AZN 1.9mln.
Insurance companies' liabilities for re-insurance payments accounted for AZN 13.4mln in 2007.
There are 28 insurance and one re-insurance companies operating in Azerbaijan.
