Palmali Group of Companies (Turkey) has made an order for construction of 10 tankers of "Armada" (design RST 22) at the Volgograd Shipyard, Palmali quoted the company's Vice President Rauf Aliyev. In 2009, the amount the company's transportation on the internal waterways of Russia amounted to 3.5 million tons.
Palmali is involved in cargo deliveries in the Mediterranean, Caspian and Black Sea Basin. It is the largest company involved in transportation in Russian internal waters with a fleet comprising over 129 owned and leased vessels. In October 2009, Palmali signed a contract with Besiktas (Besiktas Gemi Insaat Anonim Sirketi shipyard,Turkey) on construction of third range of 'Armada' tankers, design RST22M. The ship is planned to be launched in December 2010.
Ten tankers of "Armada" first range and five tankers "New Armada" have been successfully operated for the mixed river-sea transport of oil, fuel oil, diesel fuel and other petroleum products and vegetable oils, as well as for marine transportation in the Caspian, Black, Mediterranean, Baltic and North Seas, including shipments around Europe and in the Irish Sea in winter.
