Until April 10 Baku Metro will make counting the cost for railway trip for per passenger and present the figures to the Tariff Council of Azerbaijan, Baku Metro head Tagi Ahmedov said today at a press conference at the headquarters of the New Azerbaijan ruling party.

"According to calculations that were made earlier, the cost for railway trip for one passenger is 0.49 manat. But until April 10 counting will be held again, after which they will be submitted to the Tariff Council," Ahmedov said.

According to Ahmadov, the right to set costs in Metro belongs to the Tariff Council and any decision of the Council will be executed.

According to decision of the Tariff Council of Azerbaijan, from October 1 2009 tariffs on passenger service in the Baku Metro were increased three times - from 0.05 to 0.15 AZN.

The Baku metro functions since 1967 (from Icheri Sheher station to Nariman Narimanov station with three intermediate stations). Seven stations of the Baku metro, including Icheri Sheher, Sahil, 28 May, Jafar Jabbarli, Khatai, Nizami and Elmler Akademiyasi, are deep-laid stations with Bakmil being surface and the rest -shallow-laid (altogether 21 stations). The Baku metro plans to put into operation another station Azadliq by late 2009.
