Businessmen of the Kurgan region of Russia are interested in establishing joint ventures with Azerbaijan, vice-governor of the region Vasiliy Zharov told reporters on Tuesday.

Businessmen of the Kurgan region of Russia are interested in establishing joint ventures with Azerbaijan, vice-governor of the region Vasiliy Zharov told reporters on Tuesday.

"We are interested in creation of joint venture by entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan and the Kurgan region. Introducing of tax incentives would be effective measure to stimulate the activities of such associations" Zharov said.

Business forum with participation of businessmen of both sides was held in Baku during the visit of delegation headed by the Governor of the Kurgan region of Russia Oleg Bogomolov to Azerbaijan.

Zharov noted that relations between Azerbaijan and the Kurgan region are developing dynamically.

"This forum will be fruitful and may result in a conclusion of agreements on specific projects. As a result of negotiations in the framework of the forum was agreed to supply 20.000 tons of grain to Azerbaijan, and it is just the beginning" Zharov said.

There are companies from the Kurgan region of Russia in engineering, manufacturing fire-fighting equipment, construction and others. The forum agreed to hold a similar event in the Kurgan region.

Issues related to the implementation of agreements on trade, economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Kurgan region of Russia, signed in April 2007 were discussed during the visit of the delegation.
