Azerbaijan rates second among Georgia's major foreign trade partners. According to Georgian Statistics, 12.2 percent of Georgia's foreign trade falls to Azerbaijan's share.
According to Georgian Statistics, Georgia and Azerbaijan have conducted trade operations to the amount of 814 093.3 million dollars within January-August of 2012. Moreover, Georgia imported goods to the amount of 413 962.8 million dollars and exported- to the amount of 400 130.5 million dollars.
Georgia mainly exported passenger cars (reexport), rebar, cattle and cement to Azerbaijan. Oil and oil products, gas, electric transformers were imported by Georgia from Azerbaijan.
Georgian trade turnover amounted to 6 649 million dollars in January-August of 2012 in total, which is 16 percent more than during the same period of 2011. The export amounts to 1 552 million (13 percent more) , the import reaches 5 096 million dollars (16 percent of increase) The deficit amounted to 3 554 million dollars (53 percent).
