Expanded monetary base rises by almost 28 % in Azerbaijan

As of September 1, the expanded monetary base amounted to 9195.7 million manat in Azerbaijan, a statistical report of the Azerbaijani Central Bank (CBA) said on Friday.
According to the CBA, the monetary base increased by 27.7 per cent during the year, and by 8.3 per cent within 8 months.

As of September 1, 2012 the monetary base in manat was 9076.4 billion manat compared to 7119.3 billion manat as of September 1, 2011 and 8275.3. million manat as of January 1, 2012.
In the reporting period, the volume of money in circulation amounted to 8617.5 million manat.
As of September 1, 2011 this figure amounted to 6883.8 million manat, and as of January 1, 2012 - 7658.5 million manat.

The bank reserves hit 560.5 million manat, or 82.4 per cent more than as of September 1 2011 (307.3 million manat), and 32.2 per cent less than the same figure as of January 2012 (826.4 million manat).

The cash in circulation to monetary base ratio for the reporting period was 93.7 per cent compared to 95.6 per cent as of September 1, 2011, and 90.2 per cent as of January 1, 2012.
