Around 11 million tons of oil and dry goods were transported through the Aktau port in 2012. Operation plans were executed at 105 percent, Kazakh Minister of Transport and Communications Askar Zhumagaliyev said during a government hour in the Majilis (a lower chamber of the Kazakh parliament) on Monday.

"The work with clients of the Aktau port - shippers and consignees has been organized via the single window principle," he said. "The service time has been reduced from 6 hours to 45 minutes."

"There are plans to soon build three terminals with a designed capacity of 2.5 million tons of dry cargo per year to improve competitiveness and increase the capacity of the Aktau port," he said.
