China's Jiangsu Xingrong High Tech Co., Ltd and SAM Building Contracting LLC (UAE) will deliver "turnkey" technological equipment to the amount of $15.24 million for the construction of a copper tube production plant worth $35.5 million, a representative of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine, which is the project customer, told Trend on Monday.
In particular, the Chinese Xingrong company will supply and assemble the technological equipment and execute the start-up operations with a total value of $9.67 million, SAM Building Contracting LLC (UAE) will supply steel and wall constructions, equipment and execute the start-up "turnkey" operations with a total cost of $5.57 million.
Uzbek Tashelektroapparat will manufacture and supply electrical equipment with design, construction and start-up "turnkey" operations worth $3.79 million.
It was reported that the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Plant started creating the production of 8 - 45 mm copper pipes with a capacity of 8,000 tons per year in the Angren free industrial zone (Tashkent region) in early 2013.
The interlocutor reported that the government approved the volume and the scheme of financing the project by a special resolution in late May.
According to the document, the project will be financed by Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Plant's own funds to the amount of $10.28 million and loans of the Uzbek "Mortgage Bank" delivered in freely convertible currency and the national currency worth $ 25.2 million.
The Angren pipe factory, created in the form of a unitary enterprise, is planned to be commissioned in December 2013.
The company is planned to be mainly focused on exports. Around 7,600 tons of copper pipes will be exported.
Almalyk MMC is the only copper producer in Uzbekistan and one of the largest manufacturers of non-ferrous metals in Central Asia. The AMMC accounts for nearly 90% of silver production and 20% of gold production in the country. The plant is composed of two mining companies, two processing plants and two metallurgical plants.
