Artisans of Uzbekistan will have the right to freely dispose of foreign currency received from the export of their products, according to an order signed by Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The order to stimulate the export activity of artisans was given by the Uzbek president during a meeting dedicated to the issue held Nov. 3.
The artisans will be able to receive foreign currency in cash from a bank account, according to the order.
Also it was instructed to organize special exhibitions and fairs in each region, where artisans will participate for free.
Attention was paid to issues of state registration of artisans, providing them with equipment and raw materials, vacant buildings on a preferential basis for organization of activities.
Instructions were given to expand the artisanal centers, simplify the delivery of their products to buyers. In particular, it is important to create opportunities for Uzbek artisans to sell their products in markets and supermarkets, and, if desired, open a store in their home.
The need to finance promising projects of artisans, granting them preferential loans, attracting investments of international financial institutions to the sphere was noted.
At present, there are 34 kinds of artisan activity in Uzbekistan.
