A unique plant will be established in Uzbekistan for manufacture of industrial batteries, the press service of JSC "Uzvtorcvetmet" said in a message.
The plant, equipped with high-tech equipment of the South Korean manufacturer UnicorCo. Ltd, is to be launched in mid-2018.
The project realization is envisaged in the presidential decree approving the Program on measures to ensure structural transformation, modernization and diversification of production was approved.
Under the president's program, "Uzvtorcvetmet" acts as the organizer of the production of industrial batteries.
Thanks to this project, there will be a huge potential in the areas of alternative energy, mobile communications, the defense structure for introducing new technologies and improving the reserves of energy sources.
Experts note that Uzbekistan has favorable climatic conditions for the use of solar energy, whose energy potential makes up 98.5 percent of all renewable energy sources combined, the project is relevant both for ensuring energy security and improving the social and living conditions of the population.
The construction of the new plant will, on one hand, will fully meet the demand within the country, on the other - to increase the supply of products for export, project manager Behzod Yunusov said.
