Thirteen textile clusters will be created in Uzbekistan in accordance with the Cabinet of Ministers’ resolution dated Jan. 25, 2018.

This model implies the creation of a single production cycle, which includes the cultivation of raw cotton, primary processing, further processing at cotton ginning enterprises and the production of final textile products with high added value.

The newly created clusters will independently sign direct contracts with farm households for the cultivation and supply of raw cotton and accordingly pay them, according to the resolution.

The clusters are allowed to sell the cotton fiber volumes, which exceed the need for own production, upon direct contracts or through exchange trades.

The price for raw cotton, purchased by textile enterprises, is set by the organizers of the cotton textile cluster independently.

In 2017 more than 2.93 billion tons of raw cotton were produced in Uzbekistan, according to the official statistics.

Some 3.1 billion tons of raw cotton are planned to be produced in Uzbekistan in 2018.
