Kazakh banks' revenues near 24 trillion tenge

Revenues of Kazakh banks for the first 9 months of this year remained almost unchanged as compared with the same period last year – they amounted to 23.9 trillion tenge, which is a 0.1 percent decline, Finprom.kz reported.

Second-tier banks' revenues by 93.5 percent consisted of the income not related to the receipt of interest, which in monetary terms is 22.3 trillion tenge.

Within the non-interest income, the main source of cash flows was the revaluation of assets – 20.1 trillion tenge (19.8 billion tenge a year earlier). The second source was the restoration of reserves – 849.7 billion tenge (701.9 billion tenge a year earlier). And the third most profitable source of cash flows was dealing operations – 506.8 billion tenge (494.9 billion tenge a year earlier).

It is worth noting that till 2016, Kazakh banks’ revenues grew rapidly in the corresponding period, but in 2017 revenues decreased significantly.

The official exchange rate on October 25 is 367.49 KZT/USD.
