Gilan customs hold 21st place in Iran in terms of exports

Iran’s Gilan province holds 21st place in the country in the area of exports, the ISNA news agency quoted the Customs Controller of Iran’s Gilan province Abulgasim Yusifnejad as saying.

Some 680,000 tons of products were exported from this province in the first 8 months of the current year (beginning from March 21, 2018), he added.

He noted that the volume of the exported products have increased by 139 percent in terms of weight and by 67 percent in terms of value expressed in US dollars.

Yusifnejad added that the mentioned statistical indicators decreased by 1 percent in terms of weight as compared with the same period of the last year, but 14 percent growth was recorded in economic terms.

The customs controller of Gilan province said the products valued at $ 534 million were imported this year. Although the volume of imports increased by 37 percent in terms of weight, it decreased by 9 percent in terms of value expressed in US dollars.

Yusifnejad said 62 percent of Iran’s exports to Russia fall to the share of Gilan province, and the total value of exports to Russia exceeded $100 millions. Some 27 percent growth has been recorded in terms of weight, and 33 percent growth in terms of economic indicators.

“This year, we imported 1325 railcars of goods in the volume of 80,000 tons and in the value of $14.4 million. In addition, we exported 1007 railcars of goods valued at $11.4 million, and we carried out 123 transit operations,” he noted.
