Ministry: Turkey's trade turnover increases by almost two percent (Exclusive)

In January-November 2018, Turkey's trade turnover increased by 1.93 percent and reached $360.695 billion, Trend reports citing Turkey's Ministry of Trade.

In the first 11 months of 2018, Turkey’s imports amounted to $206.464 billion, which is 2.02 percent less compared to the same period of 2017.

"During the reported period, Turkey imported mineral fuel worth $39.040 billion, equipment and machinery worth $23.807 billion, electrical goods worth $15.358 billion, steel and cast iron materials worth $17.256 billion and vehicles for $12.747 billion. The rest of the imports, $98.256 billion, accounted for other types of goods," the ministry said.

The ministry noted that during the reported period, Turkey's imports from Russia amounted to $20.161 billion, which is 14.36 percent more compared to the same period in 2017.

The ministry added that in the first 11 months of 2018, Turkey’s exports amounted to $154.232 billion, which is 7.75 percent more compared to the same period in 2017.

"In January-November 2018, Turkey exported vehicles worth $24.597 billion, equipment and machinery worth $14.519 billion, iron and cast-iron materials worth $10.475 billion, electrical goods worth $7.950 billion and textiles worth $8.395 billion. The remaining $88.296 billion accounted to other types of goods," the ministry said.

The ministry also noted that during the reported period, Turkey’s exports to Germany amounted to $14.948 billion, which is 8.22 percent more compared to January-November 2017.
