Foundation of the biggest steel plant in Iran with participation of the private sector will be laid in the Hashtrud district of the East Azerbaijan province, head of the district Amin Aminian said, Trend reports via ISNA.
He said the foundation of the plant will be laid Feb. 19 with funds worth 11 trillion rials (about $262 million).
With the commissioning of the plant, direct employment of 3,500 people and indirect employment of 15,000 people will be ensured, he said, adding that the plant will load 800 trucks per day with rebar, iron and other materials.
"A total of 77 projects will be commissioned in the district next week, and the projects cost 160 billion rials (about $3.8 million)," he said.
