A new project has been launched in Azerbaijan in the field of youth employment at the initiative of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers’) Organizations of Azerbaijan (ASK) and support of the International Labor Organization (ILO), acting Secretary General of the ASK Kristina Mammadova told Trend Feb. 7.

She said that the project is aimed at assisting young people in employment issues in the field of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

“The project envisages meetings with university students so that employers and entrepreneurs cooperate with educational institutions, and this further contributes to solving a very urgent problem - the lack of competent personnel,” she noted. “Unfortunately, one of the main problems of our entrepreneurs is the lack of qualified specialists. As a result, difficulties in creating system production emerge and companies cannot work effectively.”

She added that the greatest shortage of personnel is observed in the field of agriculture.
