Iranian province exports more than $400,000 worth of feed for sea creatures in 2 months

Some $420,000 worth of feed for sea creatures has been exported from Iran's Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province during the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2019), said Amin Salabat, deputy chaiman of the Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiyari Province, Trend reports referring to the organization's website.

According to Salabat, 9,400 tons of feed have been produced up until now.

"Some 420 tons of feed for sea creatures have been exported to Azerbaijan and Iraq," he noted.

Amin Maleki, the executive director of the plant for the production of feed for sea creatures in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiyari Province, said that the plant has the potential to produce 100,000 tons of feed annually. The plant currently produces about 300 tons of feed per day.

According to Maleki, the plant meets 55 percent of Iran's domestic needs, in addition to exporting to foreign markets.

He also said that the factory currently produces feed for trouts, carps, shrimps, sturgeons, sea fish and Amur catfish.

The plant located in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiyari Province was commissioned in 2011 in the city of Shahrekord, with an investment of 25 billion rials (app. $595,000) from the private sector, and provided 1,200 people with employment.
