Kazakhstan sees increase in registration of cars

During first seven months of 2019 the number of cars registered in Kazakhstan amounted to 826,101 vehicles of all types, which is 12.32 percent more than during the same period of last year, Trend reports with reference to KazAutoProm.

Thus, 770,640 units of them accounted for secondary registration of the vehicles due to the change of ownership, which is 11.5 percent more than during the same period of last year. The number of cars which were registered for the first time equaled 55,461 units, which is 24.8 percent more than during the same period of 2018.

“Furthermore, the number of cars registered in June amounted to 122,873 vehicles, which is 8.1 percent more compared to the same period of the previous year. Some 1313,772 units of them accounted for resale on the secondary market, which is also 6.9 percent more compared to seven months of 2018,” the statement said.

“Only 11 cars of total volume registered were electrical cars compared to 39 cars sold last year,” the report said.

Over two thirds of the vehicles (69.9 percent), which were re-registered since 2019 account for vehicles over 10 years old.

The largest volume of re-registered cars account for Almaty region (118,904 units), Almaty city 94,165 units) and Turkestan region (70,684 units).

The citizens of Almaty region have also registered the largest number of vehicles over 20 years old (21 percent), whereas citizens of Almaty city re-registered the largest number of cars, which are less than one year old (23.7 percent).
