Georgia increases milk and meat production

Milk and meat production in Georgia increased, while egg production decreased, Trend reports referring to Georgian National Statistics Office (Geostat).

In the second quarter of 2019, milk production in Georgia increased by 1.8 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to 193 million litres.

The meat production increased by 4.6 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and stood at 15,900 tons.

In the second quarter of 2019, egg production amounted to 151.1 million pieces, which is 5.4 percent less than in the same period of the previous year.

According to the National Statistics Office of Georgia, the export of cattle and sheep from Georgia decreased in the second quarter, while the export of poultry increased.
