Iran's foreign currency reserves up

Iran's foreign exchange reserves have increased over the past year, Director General of the Central Bank of Iran Abdulnasser Hemmati said, Trend reports referring to the Central Bank of Iran's website.

The main part of Iran's foreign exchange reserves envisaged for import is ensured through the export of non-oil products, the director general said.

The export of the products in large volume in the current situation is very important for the Iranian economy, he said.

Iran exported 70 million tons of products worth $20.9 billion from March 21 to September 22, 2019. During this period, the export of the Iranian products decreased by 10.5 percent in terms of value and by 22.5 percent in terms of weight.
