Ukraine’s Marine Engineering Bureau designing new vessels in Azerbaijan

Marine Engineering Bureau in Ukraine’s Odessa city is jointly designing new vessels for construction at the Baku Shipyard LLC, Gennady Egorov, director general of the Bureau, told Trend Nov. 5.

“The Baku Shipyard is building six such vessels - four tankers with a deadweight of 7,875 tons of the RST12C project and two rail-car-passenger ferries for the Caspian lines of the CNF18C project,” the general director said.

Egorov also emphasized that, the main tanker - “Lachin”, is planned to be commissioned this year.

“The launch of the main ferry called “Azerbaijan” is expected this year, and the second such ferry is expected to be launched next year,” the director general added.

Marine Engineering Bureau implements several major projects in Azerbaijan jointly with Baku Shipyard LLC and the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO), while in Russia the Bureau is mainly engaged in construction of cruise ships and tankers, bulk carriers, in Kazakhstan - bulk carriers and transport tugboats, in Turkmenistan - tankers.
