Agricultural products worth 1.4 billion manat ($820 million) were produced in Azerbaijan from January through April 2020, Trend reports on May 13 referring to the country’s State Statistics Committee.
According to the committee, in the reporting period, the agricultural production grew by 3.8 percent compared to the same period of 2019.
From January through April 2020, the cost of fruits and vegetables produced in the country surged by 13.5 percent compared to the same period of 2019 (78.3 million manat, or $46 million) and amounted to 99.4 million manat ($58.4 million).
The cost of livestock products increased by 3.2 percent compared to the same period of 2019, amounting to 1.3 billion manat ($760,000).
In 2019, the cost of agricultural products produced in the country amounted to 7.8 billion manat ($4.6 billion), which is 7.2 percent more compared to 2018.
