New food plant commissioned in Iran's Lorestan Province

A food plant has been launched in the industrial park of the Borujerd county in Lorestan Province (western Iran), said Iranian Deputy Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade and Executive Director of the Iran Small Industries and Industrial Parks Organization (ISIPO) Mohsen Salehinia, Trend reports citing Shata news agency.

According to Salehinia, the plant was built on an area of ​​13,000 square meters. The project cost was 130 billion rials (about $3.09 million).

Salehinia added that the plant will produce various pickles, marmalade, olives, fruit tomatoes and etc.

The deputy minister said that in addition to domestic consumption, the products will be exported to Belgium, Australia, Germany, Canada, Iraq and the UAE.

According to the director, the plant has two more phases to be commissioned by the end of this year (began March 20, 2020). Thus, the plant will produce pomegranate, tomato and fruit concentrates.

With the full commissioning of the plant, more than 1,000 people will be employed.
