Iran sees increase in trade turnover with Oman

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Jan. 18

Iran's trade turnover with Oman increased by 33 percent during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 20 through December 20, 2020), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports citing the statistics of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI).

According to the statistics, the trade turnover between Iran and Oman amounted to 2.2 million tons worth about $592 million over the reporting period.

“Iran exported 1.25 million tons of goods worth $273 million to Oman within 9 months. The exports decreased by 17 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year,” the statistics said.

Furthermore, Iran imported 979,000 tons of goods from Oman worth $318 million in the first nine months. The imports increased by 181 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year, the statistics said.

In general, Iran exported 85.2 million tons of goods worth $25 billion in the first 9 months of the current Iranian year. Moreover, Iran imported 25 million tons of goods worth $26.8 billion during the reporting period.
