Russia supplied the agro-industrial products worth $706 million to the Azerbaijani markets in 2020, Trend reports referring to the country's Federal Center for Development of Agro-Industrial Product Exports under the Ministry of Agriculture.
According to the center, Azerbaijan entered the list of top 10 largest buyers of Russian agro-industrial products in 2020.
"Last year, Russia supplied 79 million tons of agricultural products worth $30.7 billion to foreign markets," said the center.
The center also noted that growth was shown by all major groups of goods, except fish and seafood, the export value of which decreased by 2.1 percent due to the COVID-19 pandemic-related lower prices.
"Grain shipments in monetary terms grew by 29 percent, fat and oil products - by 22 percent, meat - by 49 percent, and dairy products - by 11 percent. Supplies of food and processing industry products rose by 13 percent," the center pointed out.
The total volume of grain exports from Russia to other countries increased by 25 percent, to 49 million tons, and in monetary terms - by 29 percent, to $10 billion. The product exports from Russia to Azerbaijan in 2020 amounted to $313 million. Thus, Azerbaijan entered the list of the top 5 largest countries-buyers of Russian grain, added the center.
