Azerbaijan sees increase in prices on food products

The annual inflation rate in Azerbaijan amounted to 2.8 percent in 2020, Trend reports with reference to the annual report of the Cabinet of Ministers.

According to the report, the measures taken in the country, including monetary policy and the stability of the manat exchange rate, ensured the creation of inflation at a single-digit level.

During the reporting year, food products rose in price by 5 percent, non-food products - by 1.3 percent.

In 2020, as compared to the previous year, there was no significant increase in prices for paid services provided to the population.

Last year, the producer price index for manufacturing products decreased by 3.6 percent in average annual terms. Producer price indices for electricity, gas and steam distribution remained stable in 2020 compared to 2019. The producer price index for agricultural products increased by 5.6 percent in average annual terms.
