Today, over 2,500 large industrial and social facilities are under construction in Turkmenistan, Trend reports via the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (TUIE).
The construction of these facilities is carried out within the framework of the Socio-economic Development Programme for 2019-2025, which provides for the creation of new industrial capacities, and the Programme for the transformation of the social and living conditions of the population in the regions. TUIE is the main contractor for most of these facilities.
Deputy Prime Minister Charymyrat Purchekov stated at a Government meeting on December 17 that the Ashgabat mayor's office and regional administrations, as well as ministries that order the construction of facilities to TUIE companies, have developed a preliminary plan for the commissioning of new buildings in 2022.
The second section of the Ashgabat-Turkmenabat autobahn is scheduled to open at the end of 2022. Its first section, from the capital to Tejen, was commissioned this October. The entire 600-km Ashgabat-Turkmenabat autobahn route will be completed by the end of 2023.
The project, for which the state has allocated $2.3 billion, is being carried out by a member of the TUIE, Turkmen Autobahn, a closed joint-stock company.
