BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 29. Overall, 1.75 million tons of goods worth approximately $1.06 billion were imported through the customs of Iran’s Mazandaran Province in the north of the country, during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2022), Supervisor of Mazandaran Customs Office Asgar Niknafas told Mehr New Agency, Trend reports.

This is an increase of 15 percent in value, while a decrease of 22 percent in volume compared to the same period the last Iranian year, according to Niknafas.

The official added that the goods through the province’s customs were imported from 26 countries, mainly Türkiye (348,000 tons worth $378 million), the UAE (658,000 tons worth $331 million), Russia (343,000 tons worth $157 million), Kazakhstan (144,000 tons worth $54 million), and Switzerland (104,000 tons worth $38 million).

In total, the non-oil trade turnover via the province’s customs for 9 months amounted to 2.58 million tons worth approximately $1.27 billion, which is an increase of 12 percent in value compared to the same period last Iranian year.
