BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 30. Iran imported a total of 22,300 tons of goods worth $41.8 million through the customs of Golestan Province in the north-east of the country, during the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through January 20, 2023), Director General of Golestan Province Customs Office Ebrahim Hosseini said, Trend reports, citing the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

According to him, the imports via the province’s customs for the reporting period decreased by 16 percent in value, while increasing by 40 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.

The official added that the imported goods were mainly soybean oil, generators, fabrics, barley feed, etc.

“The mentioned goods were imported from Türkiye, Turkmenistan, China, Kazakhstan, India, the UAE, Spain, Vietnam, Germany, Tajikistan, Italy, Uzbekistan and Iraq,” Hosseini said.

Hosseini noted that the income of the province’s customs for 10 months amounted to 1.52 trillion rials (about $36.2 million), an increase of 164 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.

Iran imported 31 million tons of goods worth $48.5 billion within the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through January 20, 2023). This is an increase of 16.8 percent in value, while a decrease of 6 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.
