Deciphering of flight recorder of AH-140-100 is over

Deciphering of flight recorder of the airliner AH-140-100, crashed near Baku on 23 December 2005, is over. The conclusion on the reasons for the jet crash will be made after the completion of data processing, AZAL State Air Lines Company told Trend. In accordance with preliminary data, the jet crashed due to breakdown of indicator of position of air bus.

Some fragments of the airline were sent to the Kharkov state aviation enterprise for study.

AZAL suspended acquisition and exploitation of РђH-140-100 airline till clarification of the situation. The airline was purchased under the contract, undersigned between the Company and Kharkov state aviation enterprise on 8 July 2004. The value of the contract comprises $36.4m (4 airliners each with the cost of $9.1m). AZAL purchased two airlines.

18 passengers and 5 members of the crew died as a result of the jet crash. There were citizens of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Australia, the UK, Turkey and Georgia among the dead. AN-100-140 airliner, belonging to AZAL state company, took off Heydar Aliyev international airport to carry out Baku-Aktau flight and crashed within several minutes.
