As of March 31, 2006 active leasing portfolio of the country amounted $39.4mln at 471 projects intact.Trend reports with reference to release by Leasing Activity Support Project that the portfolio is diversifies as follows: 34% in transport, 21% in construction, 12% in agriculture, 6% in civil construction, 5% in financial sector and insurance, 4% in food production, 3% in medicine; wholesale trade, tourism and service sphere get 2% each and so on.
The release also lists todays active companies: Ata Lizinq, Azerilizinq, AG Lizinq, Azerlizinq, Gunaylizinq, UluxanlД±, Texnika Lizinq, Parex Lizinq and Uni Lizinq.
IFC forecasts the rise of leasing operations amount to $400mln within the closest two years in Azerbaijan. These forecasts are substantiated with official information on import and investments.
