Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend , corr. I. Khalilova / Within the State Programme for the Development of the National Payment and Cash Settlement System for 2005-2007, "Millikart" LLC is expected to expand its ATM (cash machines) and POS terminal network this year, a source in the Processing Centre told Trend. The number of ATMs (Automatic Teller Machines) is expected to be brought up from the existing 100 cash machines to 250 ones, the network of POS-terminals - from the existing 90 ones to 500-600 ones.

The significant increase in the number of the network of terminals is linked with the commissions coming from the Azerbaijan Presidential Decree- "On Improvement of Azerbaijan's Payment and Cashless Settlement System", which was issued on November 22, 2005, which has posed a tasks to provide all trade and sale points and objects and service facilities with POS-terminals till the end of 2007.

To speed up this process, the Azerbaijan Taxes Ministry, does not register cash machines on their points and objects without the classification of terminals. . According to the Processing Centre, due to this fact, "Millikart" receives about 50 requests to install POS-terminals per day.

By June, 2007, the Centre is expected to provide terminals all the points and objects, which turnover is AZN 1.000 per day, but by the end of the year, there are to be installed in all trade and sale points and objects and service facilities in the country without any limits. At applying to the tax bodies for cash machines, all these points should right now turn to cashless settlement through rendering service to the population via POS-terminals irrespective of the turnover.
