SOCAR to Commission Main Gas Pipeline Secton in 2007

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend A.Badalova / The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) plans to finish building of the Oil Ricks - Bahar main gas pipeline with the length of 67km and discharge capacity of 5.5mln m in a day. Over 12 days Israfil Huseynov pipe-lay built 26km section of main gas pipeline by 13 November, SOCAR said.

According to Agasaf Aliyev, the head of the Caspian Investment Department of SOCAR, gas pipelines with the length of 253km was built in 2007. Some 127k of them is subsoil and 126km land pipelines. In 2008 it is planning to build 111km of gas pipeline to Guneshli oil field. The length of the two pipelines will comprise 45 km. The connection of these gas pipelines to the gas fields enabled the Oil and Gas Production Units (OGPU) "28 May" to increase daily gas handling by 1.5 times a day.

The construction of the Sangachal - Kalmaz - Kazi-Magomed gas pipeline with the length of 47km and diameter of 1.219mm has been finished. The gas pipeline is designed for the transportation of gas from Shah Deniz gas field to the regions of Azerbaijan. The construction of 23km section of the gas pipeline up to the Kalmaz gas-holder was concluded in June. The construction of the second section of the gas pipeline will be complete by 20 September. The discharge capacity of the gas pipeline will comprise 5-6 mln cu m of gas a day. AZN 56mln was allocated for the construction. Gas pipeline belongs to Azerigaz.

A 27km of gas pipeline from the Sangachal terminal to Garadagh underground gas-holder was built in 2007. The discharge capacity of the gas pipeline is 10mln cu m a day. The construction work took AZN 22mln.

New line with length of 10km which was given to exploitation in 2007 in Devichi district, Azerbaijan. The construction of the 34.5km long Gardabani-Naftulugi gas pipeline will be finished by the end of 2007.
