Azerbaijan Dramatically Increases Production of Azerbaijani High-gravity Oil in January to November

Sharifov / In January to November, 2007, the Azerbaijani International Operating Company (AIOC), which develops a bloc of off-shore fields Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG), produced 30mln tons of Azeri Light oil in the contracted area, while 20.962mln tons of oil was produced in the same period of 2006, AIOC reported on 7 December.

In January to November, 2007, oil production in Chirag constituted 5.858mln tons, and in the same period of 2006 it was 6.398mln tons. Some 24.172mln tons were produced in the Azeri field, while in the same period of 2006 it was 14.564mln.

In November, 2007, oil production in Chirag made up 467,608 tons of oil, and in November 2006 it was 561,812 tons. The amount of oil produced in the Azeri field in October 2007 comprised 2.382mln tons, while in November 2006 it was 1.901mln.

In 2006, AIOC produced in the contracted area 23.260mln tons of Azeri Light oil, which is by 13.074mln tons more than in 2005. In 2006, oil production in Chirag amounted to 6.977mln, compared to 7.028mln tons produced in 2005. Some 16.283mln tons of oil was produced on the Azeri field in 2006, while in 2005 it was 6.109mln.
