The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) will build own filling stations in the country, SOCAR high ranking official said on June 3.
This year the company invested 10 million manats to the SOCAR Petrolium company.
The joint venture is operating owing to loan resources and will gradually build filling stations through these funds.
The official did not say the exact number of stations that to be build in Azerbaijan. SOCAR owns filling stations in Georgia and is planning to bring there number to 60 units.
SOCAR produces and refines oil at its two own oil refining plants with a total capacity of 20 million tons. Annually, 6-7 million tons of oil is refined at the plants
