Azerbaijan increases natural gas export by over %23 in 2009

In 2009, Azerbaijan exported oil and oil products worth $19.1 billion or 90.7 percent more, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan said.

In 2009, Azerbaijan exported oil and oil products worth $19.1 billion or 90.7 percent more of the country's total export, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan said.

The report mentions preservation of a dominant position of the production in oil export operations, despite the fact that, export of oil products declined by 32.8 percent compared to 2008. However, export of natural gas increased by 23.4 percent to $832 million

About $1.1957 billion of the total oil exports fall to the share of oil processing products, and 17.9 billion dollars fall to crude oil export. In this case the Azerbaijan International Operating Consortium exported crude oil worth 16.8 billion dollars. Food worth 1.1 billion were exported by other enterprises, including gas condensate worth $200.7 million transported from the Shah-Deniz, crude oil worth $ 913,5 million was transported by SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan).

During this period the total amount of exports, which fell to the oil sector, reached $1127.3 million.

The total amount of export as a result of 2009 amounted to $21.1 billion.
