Jordanian government spokesman Samih al-Maaytah has excluded the possibility of Jordan accepting Iran's proposal of free oil supplies to the country for 30 years. He said this to the CNN Arabic channel on Friday.

"To solve the problem on the lack of energy Jordan will take all necessary measures. However, we're not going to accept help from Iran," Al Maaytah said.

According to him, this kind of proposal affects the political aspects of regional cooperation as well, therefore such proposals will be rejected by Jordan.

Recently, Iran's ambassador to Amman Mustafa Muslah Zada said that Iran is ready to provide free oil and other energy resources to Jordan for 30 years in exchange for some products needed in Iran, as well as for the expansion of religious tourism in Jordan.

Earlier Muslah Zada told reporters that Iran is interested in exporting gas to Jordan and to this end Tehran will soon send a formal proposal to the country.
